Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park |
Who We Are The Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park is a non-profit citizen support organization (CSO) whose mission is to preserve, restore and protect the park, while promoting community involvement. We also strive to enhance visitor's knowledge with education and interpretation; supplement financial support to state funding; and, provide an environment that is healthy, safe, and sustainable. The CSO was formed in February of 1993 by a group of concerned citizens interested in helping to conserve the natural beauty and historical significance of Highlands Hammock State Park. | What We Do Promote responsible use of the park and assist the park staff in a variety of projects. Provide financial support for equipment, infrastructures, amenities and maintenance. Operate and manage the Hammock Inn Camp Store. Provide Tram Tours for visitors. Host Music in the Park and other special events. Provide community outreach and education. | When We Meet The Board of Directors meets every month on the second Monday at 5:30 pm. Location: Administrative Office Conference Room. All members are welcome. Yearly membership meeting in November. |
